[edit] The PicoForms Spaces
The PicoForms Spaces is a system that allows people with an account to upload pages and data to our server and get them served onto mobile phones or as an applet in a browser.
[edit] How does spaces work
Your space works the same way as with a directory with one level i.e. no parent or child levels are possible. This means that you can reference other resources by using relative URLs. You can load and submit to outside servers, however you cannot reference images or stylesheets from outside your space.
[edit] Functions
You can access your PicoForms space from the url http://mawama.com/sandbox, login with the username and password you were given when your space was created.
There are six functions available at the Pico Sandbox:
- Upload File
- Edit
- Navigate to File
- Delete
- Phone
- pda
[edit] Upload File
This function allows the user to upload a local file to the server.
To upload a file
- Click on the “Browse” Button
- Select the File you want to upload
- Select the File Type from the dropdown menu
- Click on “Upload File” button
The File you have selected will be uploaded.
The File will be added in your list of files in the Picoforms Spaces with the File Name, File Type and a unique identification number.
[edit] Edit
The source for a document in the Picoforms Spaces can be edited by using the “edit” function. The “edit” function allows the user to edit files, including the filename, which the user has earlier uploaded to the Picoforms Spaces.
To edit a file
- Click on the “edit” link against the file
An interface with two text boxes will appear; the first text box have the filename and the second text box appearing below the first text box has the codes inside it. You can make changes in the source code of the document to bring in the desired changes in the document. You can also change the filename.
- Click on the “Save” button to save the changes you have made.
The filename and/or the source code of the document will changed.
[edit] Navigate to file
When a new file is uploaded into the Picoforms Spaces, the image can be viewed in the web browser of the user. Similarly after editing the source code of a file the user can view the changes in the image in his/her web browser.
To view an image in the web browser click on the “navigate to file” link against the file.
[edit] Delete
A file existing in the Picoforms Spaces can be deleted instantly when desired by the user.
To delete a file from the Picoforms Spaces
- Click on the “delete” link against the file
The file will be deleted from the list of files in the Picoforms Spaces.
[edit] PDA
You can preview how your document will render in a PDA with picoforms microedition.
This option is available in the Picoforms Spaces.
To view an application as appearing on a pda screen
- Click on the “pda” link next the document filename
The PicoForms Micro Edition will appear in the web browser in a PDA skin showing the document.
[edit] Phone
As in pda, document available in PicoForms Sandbvox can also be previewed in a mobile phone emulator.
The Picoforms Spaces allows the user to view an application as it appear on the phone.
To view an application as appearing on a phone screen
- Click on the “phone” link next to the filename
